The Chronicles Of A Shopaholic

Shopaholic - Pink Bomber Jacket

Shopping seems to be my weakness
My wardrobe is full
I have items I haven’t even worn
Yet I can’t help but buy more
That crop top looks cute
Do I need it?
Probably not but I’ll buy anyway
My justification
Blog photography
More content
In case an event comes up
Or a spontaneous night out
They say the first step is acceptance
Well these are my admissions
Welcome to confessions of a shopaholic

In a time where social media thrives and everything we desire is just a few clicks away, we start relying on convenience. Who needs to head to the shopping mall, full of crowds, loud children and long queues when you can sit in the luxury of your own home and shop for as long as you want. If that wasn’t troubling enough, add fashion trends that change every season into the mix. Attempting to be ahead of the curve in fashion and blogging can seem difficult, especially when scrolling through Instagram feeds and everyone is talking about the latest craze. Did I miss the memo? Where was my invite? Thoughts that entered my mind before reassuring myself. Don’t be a short-lived trend, rather stay true to your style, it’s your first expression to the world. So, dear AW17 baker boy caps whilst you look beautiful on many, giving off city chick vibes I’ll be over here rocking my baby pink bucket hat, gold hoops and loving my aesthetic.

Shopaholic In Pink & Navy

Wasn’t this post about confessions?
Where have they all disappeared to?
Well lets set the scene
Minding my own business
Scrolling innocently on my Insta feed
Something captures my attention
Was it the hint of lilac?
Or an abundance of sparkles?
Following the link
To a well-known retailer
Returning many hours later
With a basket filled with questionable choices
Wasn’t I only looking for one thing?
How did I end up here?
This happens more often than I care to admit
Window shopping turns to purchases
One item leads to ten
Vowing not to spend
Crossroads are where we meet again

Did you hear about Zendaya’s Edit with Boohoo? PrettyLittleThing’s Second Skin campaign? Or River Island’s March Issue? Whether it’s supporting an influencer, participating in body positivity or renewing my wardrobe for a new season. There are so many excuses to spend my coin on new clothing and that’s only§ three of them. Other reasons involve supporting small brands, upcoming designers and discovering something new away from popular online retailers and high street shops. But I want to talk more about you and less about me.

What makes you spend your coin?

Until next time, stay fabulous,

I’m actually pretty good at not buying clothes, but makeup is definitely my weakness – I just can’t help but spend my money! Even though I have about twenty foundations, I absolutely need a new one every week.. ‍♀️

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one with a weakness for some form of shopping, haha.

Aw you went to LFW as well! Love your jacket and this post. I think I’m a shopaholic as well, but I’m doing my best to control myself (though I’ve already failed few times as of this year). I mostly spent on clothes and books, but books…I don’t think I can ever control myself when it comes to good books or even with just pretty covers. Great post hun! xx Ain

Yes girlie, LFW was interesting. I’m trying to control myself too, giving myself a two-month ban on shopping for clothes/shoes. I have way too much of everything, lol.

I usually don’t overspend with clothes, makeup and shoes but I do find myself spending money on useless tat. I’m sure I’ve had a fair few random necklaces or holiday decorations hanging around but I’ve got rid of them in my recent declutter.

Spring cleaning/decluttering always feels refreshing, I did that recently too, my bedroom felt much lighter after which I was ecstatic about.
